Two hands are involved in holding a gun and each one has its own function. The support hand steadies the handgun for a more precise shoot. Aim for a solid gun grip in order to achieve maximum control and accuracy. Here is one thing that you should always remember.
EVERYTIME YOU GRIP YOUR GUN, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR TRIGGER FINGER REMAINS STRAIGHT AND NOT ENTER THE TRIGGER GUARD.EXTENDED INDEX FINGER SHOULD LIE ALONG THE SIDE OF THE FRAME.

2.    Proper Gun Grip For The Revolver
The right gun grip for the revolver starts with positioning the gun in your main hand with it pressed all the way into the web of your hand, high on the backstrap. Be sure that you make your forearm in line the top of the barrel. Your trigger finger should lie flat along the frame of the gun and does not go into the trigger guard.

3.    Proper Gun Grip For The Semi-automatic Gun
With a semiautomatic gun, it is expected that its slide will kick backward and forward with boundless power and speed. This particular type of gun is mainly designed to deliver a shelf or hood that will keep your hand from crossing into this area. The proper grip should be having your thumb high and marginally curled downward to achieve added grip strength and to rest on the safety mechanism.

Handgun safety and accuracy are definitely two things that you need to master in order to be a responsible gun owner. You can make it a habit to shoot at a gun range or speak with a friendly team at your favorite gun store in Utah. Never stop learning about proper gun safety.
